When I lived in the inner city, I wanted to send my two sons to the local public high school. But they didn’t teach physics.

The reasons for disaffection with mathematics are manifold, but there is not doubt that our current structures do not promote maths as useful or enjoyable. Has the time come for the retirn of Maths as a mandatory course in Year 11? Maybe even in Year 12?
