Oranges and Sunshine

The Sun Herald article on Child Migrants is worth a read this morning. We saw Oranges and Sunshine last night and were moved and depressed in one moment. Wonderful performances but a heart-breaking story, so of course we have ordered the book from Bookdepository (at 60% of the price at Australian stores). The Christian Brothers copped a serve, which is both just and a shame: as always, the good things that the brothers did in other areas will be swallowed up by horror stories like Bindoon and the child-abuse incidents. The confrontation between Margaret Humphries and the Brothers at Bindoon was a priceless moment!
