Over the years 1998-2008 while non-government school enrolments grew by approximately 22 per cent, government school enrolments flat-lined at 1 per cent. Given that some 43 per cent of Australian students now attend Catholic and independent schools one hopes that any future funding model will guarantee that all students, regardless of school attended, are properly funded.
